CROWN POINT | The Awestruck Christian Music Festival will feature seven bands this year as it returns to Camp LRCA on Saturday for the second straight year.
The City Harmonic is headlining the concert and will be joined by Jake and Rolo, Willet, Shuree, We Are Leo, Rhema Soul and devotional Afterglow worship music by Sam Tromel.
Gates open at 4 p.m. at 7007 E 117th Ave., and the concert is expected to last approximately 11. Concessions and merchandise will be available.
Tickets to the festival are $18 in advance through itickets.com, or $20 at the door. There is also a special discounted rate of $15 per person for groups of 10 or more.
The festival will provide a celebratory conclusion to Project Awestruck, a week where more than 70 teens from Indiana and neighboring states gather for community service work. Throughout this week, the teenagers from five church youth groups are working a combined total of 2,000 hours on projects at more than a dozen local nonprofits, including The Bakery House Men’s Shelter in Gary, The Arc Northwest Indiana, and Wittenberg Village, Colonial and Chicagoland Christian Village nursing homes.
Funds raised through the music festival offset the costs of Project Awestruck.
While Project Awestruck is specifically for church youth groups, the Awestruck Festival is open to the public.
Awestruck’s coordinators welcome volunteers for jobs during the festival, including setup and takedown, parking lot attendants and greeters.
