CROWN POINT | The Board of Communication Services at Trinity Lutheran Church and School hosts its second annual Communication and Public Relations Workshop on March 16.
It runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the school, 250 S. Indiana Ave.
The seminar is free and open to representatives of nonprofit organizations, area churches and their various ministries.
Among those participating are two journalists from The Times of Northwest Indiana.
Damian Rico, community online director for The Times, and correspondent Diane Poulton will talk about using social media and the Times community websites to promote organizations and events.
They will also give pointers on writing news releases.
Also participating are Edda Taylor of Edda Taylor Photographie, who will discuss photography usage; Kari-Anne Innes of Valparaiso University, who will speak on Special Event Marketing; Kristen Kearney, webmaster at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Bob Michalak, webmaster at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, who will discuss website design and administration; and Dan Matalin of Dan Matalin Signs, who will talk about signage and sign marketing.
Dennis Hodges, board chairman, will facilitate the session.
