CROWN POINT | Crown Point High School senior Brandi Collins was selected as an Academic All-Star by the Indiana Association of School Principals. Collins was nominated because of her leadership, involvement in the community and in academic activities.
She is on both the academic super bowl and the academic team. Collins is vice president of the Latin Club, a member of student council, a tutor and a volunteer at the city court. She also works many hours each week as a student athletic trainer.
After graduation the valedictorian plans to study internal medicine at Vanderbilt University.
Collins is the daughter of Cheryl Ray and her most influential teacher is Science Department Chair Dotty Johnson.
“She not only cares about me as a student, but as a person. Her positive outlook and energy seems contagious to everyone in the room,” Collins said. She also said Johnson reminds her that in order to be successful she must always do her best.
