CROWN POINT | The Crown Point High School VEX Robotics Team competed Jan. 26 at the Granville, Mich. VEX Robotics Tournament featuring teams 1233A, 1233B, 1233C, and 1233D.
With a total field of 24 robotic teams from Michigan and Indiana, in qualification rounds team 1233A finished first. Team 1233C finished second, team 1233D finished third and team 1233B finished seventh.
For the first time in CPHS VEX Robotics history, Teams 1233A and C teamed up as the number one alliance team and teams 1233B and D as the number two alliance team. All four teams dominated in the quarter and semifinal rounds to compete against each other in the finals. With Teams 1233B and D edging out teams 1233A and C in the final match by one point. Teams 1233B and 1233D now join team 1233A as qualifiers for this year’s VEX Nation Tournament in Nebraska.
Teams 1233C, 1233A and 1233B ranked respectively second, third and fourth in the coveted “Excellence Award." Team 1233A also bringing home the “Amaze Award” and team 1233B bringing home the “Design Award.”
