CROWN POINT | Crown Point High School was included in a  Newsweek ranking of 2,000 public high schools proven to be most effective in turning out college-ready graduates, school officials said.

Schools were ranked based on components including graduation and college acceptance rates; the number of college-level-class tests taken per student and average scores on the tests; average SAT and ACT scores and percent of students enrolled in at least one college-level class. 

The data analyzed was self-reported by each school, according to Newsweek. More than 5,000 schools were invited to participate and nearly 2,500 responded
