CROWN POINT | The Crown Point High School RoboDogs competed at the FIRST Robotics Crossroads Regional Competition at Rose-Hulman in early April.
Dean Kamen, the founder of FIRST Robotics and a famous inventor (most known for the Segway) was in attendance as was Glenda Ritz, Indiana Superintendent of Education.
The RoboDogs competed against 49 other teams from four states.
The CPHS students and mentors worked 30-plus hours per week including all day every Saturday designing, programming and building their robot. They faced some incredibly stiff competition and learned a great deal again this year, not only about Java, CAD and building skills, but about the interpersonal relationships of working together as a team.
