CROWN POINT | Many students find researching post-secondary education options a daunting task. To help ease the process, Crown Point High School is hosting a College and Career Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the school cafeteria, 1500 S. Main St.

Fifty colleges will be represented, both in-state and out-of-state. In addition, school partners including Herff Jones and Titak Photography will provide information on ordering graduation robes, class rings and senior pictures.

“We wanted to create an event where students could see their post-secondary options,” Assistant Principal Robert McDermott said. “It’s not every day you can talk to someone from Purdue, then walk two steps and talk to someone from IU.”

The event is open not only to Crown Point residents, but also students from Lowell, Hanover Central, Merrillville, and Lake Central high schools.

“You can get a lot of information online, but it’s so much better to talk to an admissions rep in person,” McDermott said. The fair is open to all grade levels, he added since "it is never too early to start exploring post-secondary options."
