Indiana State Police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested a Crown Point man Friday morning on a charge of receiving child pornography.
Joshua A. Atwood, 28, of 619 W. Porter St., was arrested on a federal warrant about 10 a.m., according to Indiana State Police.
While a search warrant was being served at his home Friday morning, Atwood agreed to talk to a federal agent and admitted to receiving and possessing child pornography on his computer since 2004, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Hammond.
A computer forensics examiner found 13 child pornography images and 11 child pornography videos stored on Atwood's computer hard drive, according to the complaint.
The Crimes Against Children Unit of the Indiana State Police jointly investigated the case with the U.S. agency. State police Detective Jennifer Richmond and Crown Point police assisted in Atwood's arrest.
Atwood was taken to the federal court in Hammond for an initial appearance.
