David E. Huber, of Crown Point, has been re-elected president of Catholic Order of Foresters, headquartered in Naperville, Ill.

His election took place at the order's 49th National Convention in Minneapolis, Minn., last month.

Two hundred forty delegates from 15 states met to elect three executive officers and 12 trustees, revise the it’s constitution and bylaws, and set the tone for the next four years.

Huber, a lifelong member of COF, has served as its president since 2004. Prior to that, he served as chief financial officer (2000 to 2004), fraternal director (1996 to 2000), and as a COF Board of Directors member (1984 to 1996). In addition, Huber held several local court offices and served as treasurer of the Northwest Indiana Association of Courts.

A graduate of Xavier University, in Cincinnati, Huber is the former president and general manager of Huber's Department Store in Crown Point.

His civic activities include serving as a Lake Courthouse Foundation Board member and past Boy Scouts of America Troop 45 Committee member. Also involved in his parish as a lector and past Financial Council chair, he and his wife, Debra, are the parents of three children, David II, Joseph, and Kathleen.

Huber is a member of the Presidents' Section of the American Fraternal Alliance, holds a Fellow Life Management Institute designation from the international insurance and financial services industry Life Office Management Association, and has earned licenses with the National Association of Securities Dealers.

Established in 1883, Catholic Order of Foresters is a not-for-profit fraternal benefit insurance organization with nationwide membership, conducting operations in 31 states and the District of Columbia. With more than $2.75 billion of Life Insurance in Force, COF ranks as the third largest Catholic fraternal in the U.S.

For 129 years, COF has provided Catholics and their families with life insurance plans, annuities, and added-value fraternal benefits, while local members support Catholic and community causes.
