CROWN POINT | The Crown Point Community School Corp. is accepting nominations for the Teacher of the Year and the Employee or the Year.
A Teacher of the Year will be named for both the elementary grades - prekindergarten through five - and the second grades - six through 12.
Students, former students, parents, colleagues and administrators of the public may nominate a teacher. A selection committee made up of administrators and community members will narrow the nominations down to five finalists at each level and an additional supporting statement will be requested for those five finalists.
For the Employee of the Year, any administrative, certified or classified employee of the school district, or any students, parent or member of the public may nominate an employee.
A scoring panel made up of administrative leadership team members will score all received nominations using a prepared scoring rubic.
Members of that scoring panel include an elementary principal, middle school principal, high school principal, Director of Personnel, Director of Curriculum, Director of Food Service, Director of Buildings and Grounds and Director of Transportation.
All nominations are due by March 1. Selections will be made by April 30 and winners will be announced at the May 20 School Board meeting.
Nomination forms are available on the school district website (www.cps.k12.in.us) all schools and the Administrative Service Center. All forms must be returned, with all supporting materials and documentation, to the Crown Point Community School Corp., 200 E. North St., Crown Point, IN. 46307.
