CROWN POINT | A 17-year-old suffered a broken right ankle Friday afternoon during an off-road vehicle accident, Indiana conservation officers stated in a news release.

Tyler Furnifur was operating a dirt bike at his residence when his right foot became lodged near the rear tire as he tried to lay the bike down when the throttle stuck open, the release stated.

Furnifur was taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital in Crown Point, where he was treated for a broken right ankle and released.

The accident was under investigation, according to conservation police.
