CROWN POINT | A depleted hiring list for full-time firefighters will be rebuilt in the face of potential retirements from the department, Crown Point Fire Chief Greg DeLor said.
An existing hiring list expired when the final two applicants were hired by other departments, DeLor said.
The department will be accepting applications for the hiring list beginning March 15. Testing for placement on the list is set for March 23.
Applications are available at Crown Point Fire Rescue, 126 N. East St., or on the city website at 222.crownpoint.in.gov.
Applicants must have both firefighter and EMT certification, with the expectation of receiving paramedic certification within 36 months, DeLor said.
Testing of applicants is done by the firm Fire and Police Selections.
