CROWN POINT | The city plans to fill a special events director position that has been vacant for nearly a year.
The job opening is posted on the city's website at www.crownpoint.in.gov.
"We are in the process of accepting applications for the position," said Keith Stevens, chief of staff to Mayor David Uran.
No target date is in place for filling the spot, Stevens said.
The job entails "directing, maintaining and creating special events," Stevens said.
The city has been without a special events director since May.
Jennifer Young, who held the post for five years, resigned to take a job in home health care sector.
Young coordinated events including an annual Christmas decorating contest and a St. Patrick's Day Parade, which drew 14,000 people last year.
The job, with the Mayor's Office of Special Events, pays between $44,980 and $50,643 a year, according to the salary ordinance.
