CROWN POINT | Children of Abraham Inc., a Hammond/Munster-based organization, will hold a Celebration & Fundraising Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Northwest Indiana Islamic Center, 9803 Colorado St.
The dinner will celebrate the delivery of donated medical supplies and equipment, valued at an estimated $100,000,000, to hospitals in 37 regions of the world in the past 10 years.
Guest speaker Dr. Mark Kevin, FACP, will focus on how help can be provided to areas around the world with inadequate medical facilities and equipment.
Tickets are $35 at the door, but make reservations by contacting COA at (708) 818-8375 or email@example.com.
Children of Abraham remains a totally volunteer organization with no paid staff. While it has no religious affiliation, COA has support from local Protestant and Catholic churches, the Islamic center and a Jewish temple.
Contributions are used to pay shipping costs and minor local expenses. Supplies are shipped at no cost to the hospitals that receive them.
