Do you have a favorite recipe in which the main ingredient is corn? If so, you will want to enter the Corn Recipe Contest that will be held by the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Crown Point Corn Roast on June 15 on the downtown square in Crown Point.

Denim and Diamonds Gala
The 21st annual Denim and Diamonds Gala to benefit Opportunity Enterprises is scheduled from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. June 28 in the Valparaiso University Harre Union Ballroom.
The night will feature elegant hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, silent auction using “bid by text” technology, live music and dancing.
Dress is casual with an elegant twist – jeans are encouraged, and diamonds are welcome. This event has raised more than $1.1 million to support OE’s programs and services.

Northwest Indiana will host the 30th anniversary of the “world’s fastest triathlon” Sunday.
Leon’s Triathlon, nationally broadcasted, will have participants bike, swim, and run their way through Northwest Indiana while millions of households across the nation watch (later this summer) on Comcast SportsNet.
This is an Olympic distance race beginning and ending at Wolf Lake in Hammond, including a .9-mile swim, 24.6-mile biking portion and a 6.2-mile running portion.

This year marks the fourth annual themed photography exhibit hosted by the South Shore CVA. Since the inception, it has averaged approximately 2,000 visitors annually and 30 photographers have been represented each year.
This year, all images in the exhibit will be interpretations of the theme "Reflections." Subjects must also be geographically located within the area of the South Shore, from Chicago to New Buffalo, Mich.
The exhibit will be on display Aug. 15 to Sept. 30 in the W.F. Wellman Exhibit Hall at the Indiana Welcome Center, 7770 Corinne Drive, Hammond.
