Fallen power line cuts service to 3,600 in Crown Point area

CROWN POINT | An outage caused by a downed line briefly disrupted power to about 3,600 NIPSCO customers in the Crown Point area.

Crews worked to reroute power to affected customers, spokesman Nick Meyers said.

Power went out about 1 p.m. and was restored in less than two hours.

The downed power line occurred in the area of 109th Avenue and Broadway, Meyers said. The cause is being investigated.
