Firefighters extinguished a blaze early Thursday on the roof of a restaurant at 201 N. Main St., Crown Point, Fire Chief Greg DeLor said.
Firefighters were called to Station 21, a restaurant designed to resemble a fire station, at 9:04 a.m. and had the fire under control within 15 minutes, DeLor said. No one was injured in the incident.
The fire is believed to have started when a quartz lamp on the roof got blown over by high winds from a storm late Wednesday, DeLor said.
The fire burned through a section of roof and activated a sprinkler, which helped to keep the blaze in check, DeLor said.
The restaurant suffered structural damage to the roof but is expected to be operational soon, DeLor said.
A restaurant owner said Station 21 could reopen within a few days.
