CROWN POINT | Angela Ramos, the owner of Inspiration Fitness, is on a mission to change the shape of Northwest Indiana. Her 6-Week Summer Sprint Team Challenge could help hundreds of local residents transform their bodies in 6 weeks!

Ramos’ 6-Week Summer Sprint Team Challenge is a fun fitness and weight loss contest tradition!

“The nation has really focused their attention on the benefits of participating in a contest, guided by certified personal trainers, in terms of the motivation and accountability necessary for success,” explains Ramos. “It’s difficult to lose weight on your own. Anyone who’s tried and struggled knows that – and unfortunately, that’s the majority.”

Ramos explains, “This 6-week team challenge is our fifth. We’ve been running these community challenges every Spring and Fall since 2012. This challenge begins April 14, with sign-ups ending on April 11th. There is a mandatory orientation meeting on April 12 at 9 a.m., and there are 3 levels of participation that each individual can choose from. You do not need to be a member of Inspiration Fitness to participate. You can form your own teams, or we can place you in a team. Each team consists of 5 people that complete weekly challenges to earn prizes donated by local businesses. We measure everybody at the beginning, middle, and end of the 6 weeks. The team with the most weight and inches lost walks away with $500 cash.”

“Anyone living here in Northwest Indiana that is over the age of 18 is welcome to participate,” Ramos says. “We want to help as many people as we can, and this is the best way to do that.”

Many local businesses like Crown Town Grill, Fleet Feet, and Fahrenheit 212 have sponsored the challenge in the past and helped to spread the word. We are always looking for more local businesses to participate and provide prizes awarded weekly to the 6 Week Challenge Winners. “It’s definitely a town effort.” says Ramos. “We couldn’t do this without a lot of help. We’re all very grateful for the way this challenge is being received and look forward to helping a lot of folks lose weight and get into great shape.”
