CROWN POINT | Clergy members gathered at Geisen Funeral Home on a recent afternoon, but they weren’t there to provide a service for a grieving family.
This time they were the ones served, along with members of their office staffs, in celebration of Administrative Professionals Week. The funeral home treated local clergy members and their office staff to a catered lunch.
“This is a fun event and the food is excellent – we look forward to this every year,” said Pastor Mark Wilkins of First United Methodist Church of Crown Point.
“We’re always looking for ways to give back, and we love treating the ones who give so much of themselves to others,” Geisen Funeral Homes owner Larry Geisen said.
Churches staff members from Crown Point, Merrillville and Hebron were invited to the complimentary lunch. Geisen and Jean Lahm, Community Relations director, hosted games where guests competed for prizes.
“Every year we have a trivia contest, which gets more competitive each year. Everyone has such a great time”, Lahm said.
