CROWN POINT | A Hammond woman was injured after she lost control of her car while driving on Interstate 65 near Crown Point, police said.
Robin Dean Krueger, 43, was driving a 1995 Honda at 6:09 p.m. south near mile marker 244 when apparently she lost control of her car, Indiana State Police said. She overcorrected, which caused her to go off the road.
Krueger's car went into the cable barrier in the median, police said. She was unconscious when police reached her and had to be extricated from the car.
She was taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital in Crown Point with serious injuries, police said.
According to a news release from state police, drugs were being considered a factor in the crash. Alcohol tests are pending.
Krueger had a small dog with her in the car that was not injured. Animal control is housing the dog.
