HEBRON | Three imaginative children were awarded prizes for their creativity and love for reading. Sixth-grader Erin Mahns, 5th-grader Christina Seel and 1st-grader Luke Carpenter won first place in their age divisions for the Hebron Library’s Coloring Contest.
Young readers were asked to draw their version of a cover design for one of their favorite books. Originality, creativity and skill were considered when the winners were selected. The prize baskets were donated by Geisen Funeral Homes.
Jean Lahm of Geisen Funeral Homes was part of the judging process.
“There were a lot of wonderful entries, talk about some tough decisions," said Lahm.
Librarian Pam Ferber looks forward to the annual contest.
“What a joy it is to see young minds in our community participate”, said Ferber.
The contest entries are currently on display at the Hebron Library.
