LOWELL | Sunday's holiday travel resulted in five crashes on the stretch of Interstate 65 between Crown Point and DeMotte exits, Indiana State Police said.
The crashes were all caused by motorists rear-ending other vehicles, police said. All of the crashes were on the southbound lanes, which caused significant traffic delays on I-65 throughout the day.
Police said the crashes impacted traffic on I-65 in Northwest Indiana to Lafayette.
Police said there were no serious or fatal injuries in any of the crashes. In the four-vehicle crash near mile marker 247 in Crown Point, two people were taken to Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital in Crown Point after they complained of pain.
