CROWN POINT | Colorful and emotional stories of people who have given of themselves so that others might live will be told today during a Franciscan St. Anthony Health Crown Point observance of National Donate Life Month.

The program begins at 9:30 a.m. in the second floor Corpus Christi Chapel with prayer and remarks from hospital officials and representatives of organ donor agencies, including the Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network, Indiana Lions Eye and Tissue Transplant Bank, and Life Line Stem Cell Services.

Donor witnesses will discuss how their lives and those of loved ones have been affected. An 11 a.m. Mass will follow.

A donor registration drive will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside of the cafeteria. According to Donate Life-Indiana, more than 117,000 persons nationwide await life-saving transplants.
