CROWN POINT | An Illinois man was sentenced to four years in state prison Tuesday for breaking into a Hammond home and taking thousands of dollars worth of jewelery, court officials said.
James A. Logsdon pleaded guilty Tuesday to burglary as a Class C felony in Lake Circuit Court, according to a prosecutor's office news release.
Logsdon, 31, admitted he broke into a home Aug. 6, 2011, and busted a bolt-chain lock on a door to gain access. He took thousands of dollars worth of jewelery and items in a closet, prosecutors said.
