CROWN POINT – Limited tickets and sponsorship opportunities remain for the Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Awards, which will take place on Thursday, May 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Avalon Manor in Merrillville.

The Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Awards Banquet is an annual tradition that honors successful women from 11 different industries for their various achievements.

“This is a chance for people to gather and recognize the myriad accomplishments by local businesswomen,” Event Organizer Andrea Pearman said. “Our steering committee is comprised of leaders in their respective fields, and we had an impressive group of more than 100 nominees to choose from this year.”

Influential Women of Northwest Indiana also presents an Empowering Business of the Year Award to a company that demonstrates excellence in supporting women’s success. All nominees were submitted by the public.

Four nonprofit organizations will also receive donations at the banquet. The funds will be used to complete projects that positively impact women and girls in Northwest Indiana. Pearman said these nonprofits were chosen from more than 20 applications, and are provided in partnership with event sponsors.

“Our ability to donate to these nonprofits results from a collaborative effort with our sponsors,” she said.

The organizations receiving donations this year are Discoveries Unlimited, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Sojourner Truth House and The Caring Place.

Tickets to the event are $90 per person, or $800 for a table of ten. Sponsorship packages vary in size and offer the chance to sponsor specific award categories, receive prominent logo recognition and inclusion on event signage, and more.

Influential Women of Northwest Indiana recognizes two winners in each category – the Influential Woman, and the Up and Coming Woman. The event will feature an awards ceremony, cocktails and hors d’oevres.
