CROWN POINT | The fourth grade class at Jerry Ross Elementary School visited Buckley Homestead in Lowell on April 22. Students spent the day in the past experiencing the culture and heritage of farming life during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

During the daylong experience, students learned about chores, recreation, school work and challenges of life. They prepared their own dinner, recited lessons, baked cornbread and washed wool just like the children of more than 100 years ago.
