“Is it Good for You?” is the program topic at 1 p.m. at the Crown Point Civic Center, 101 S. East St., Crown Point. Enjoy a fun program, a short business meeting and a coffee/dessert hour. All area senior citizens are welcome.

Are you at risk?

Learn about "Macular Degeneration, “Are you at Risk?” from Dr. Sheila Bogart at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 in Meeting Room 3 at the Crown Point Community Library, 122 N. Main St. To register for this free seminar, call Bogart-Smith Optometry at (219) 663-5960.

Shop for antiques

Shop next weekend at the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce Spring Antique and Collectibles Show in the Industrial Arts Building in the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court St.

Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $4, but children 12 and younger attend free.

Dinner and auctions

Trinity Lutheran Church and School, of Crown Point, will hold “A Night of Abundant Blessings” on March 22 at Avalon Manor, 3550 E. U.S. 30, Hobart. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will served at 7, with a live auction at 8:15.

The committee is currently accepting table sponsorships for $750 which includes 10 dinner tickets at a reserved table, 10 drink tickets, table sign with name, 1/2 page ad in the program, Name/Business Logo on a banner displayed at the auction. Local businesses can also purchase program ads.

Honors for CPHS

Congratulations to Crown Point High School VEX Robotics Teams who recently competed in Granville, Mich. at the VEX Robotics Tournament.

Crown Point had four teams entered and all four dominated in the quarter and semifinal rounds to compete against each other in the finals. Teams 1233B and 1233D join team 1233A as qualifiers for this year’s VEX National Tournament in Nebraska. Mark Querry is the team sponsor.

Congratulations also to the members of the Business Professional of America Chapter at Crown Pint High School. The students qualified to compete at the State Leadership Conference on March 10 to 12 in Indianapolis.

Students who qualified are: Hayley Bordui, Sam Beishuizen, Zoie Matthews, Michael Hillyard, Steven Median, Joe Ising, Sarah Reed, Shelby Kiger, Alicia Perez, Nick Zaberdac, Caroline Doolin, George Mirabella, Andre Hatami, Rhythm Dhillon, Kathy Cacovski and Christina Tran.

The students are seeking sponsors to help with the cost of attending the conference. Each student needs to raise $250 to attend. To help sponsor a student (any amount is welcome), send a to Mary Bachnak, c/o Crown Point High School, 1500 S. Main St., Crown Point, IN 46307. Checks should be made payable to "C.P.H.S. BPA."
