CROWN POINT | Steel City Kennel Club will present an A.K.C. Dog Show on Saturday and Sunday at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 899 S. Court St. More than 900 pure-bred dogs from throughout the U.S. will compete in conformation and, for some, in obedience. The show begins at 8:30 a.m. both days and runs until about 3 p.m., when the Best in Show dog will be chosen. "It is advisable to come early to see your favorite breed and many other breeds as they are groomed and judged," said Steel City Kennel Club President Judy Davis. "This is a great way to see pure-bred dogs in action, working to achieve their championship and obedience titles. If you have watched a dog show on television, this is the time to come out and see one up close and personal."
