CROWN POINT | A flag raising ceremony, a visit from Ronald McDonald, and a ribbon cutting ceremony all marked the grand opening and dedication Sunday of Crown Point’s new library.
Library Director Lynn Frank presented a certificate of appreciation to Crown Point Mayor David Uran who congratulated the entire library team on their efforts towards planning and completing the new facility efficiently and in a timely manner.
Uran said the new library will stand the test of time saying the building is not just aesthetically pleasing but its amenities will attract visitors who “will experience and discover for the first time what Crown Point is all about. Reading, discovery, this is what this library is all about.”
Uran said the community can be proud of the new facility which will be a legacy for generations to come.
Frank also acknowledged Crown Point’s city council and Redevelopment Commission for their support through the process and working with the library on site selection.
