CROWN POINT | The City of Crown Point Mayor David Uran presents Michael “Spike” Albrecht with a Community Inspiration Award at the May 6, 2013 City Council Meeting.

Mayor Uran presented the Award stating, “Spike, you put Crown Point on the map. You are such a positive role model for the Youth of Crown Point."

Albrecht is a graduate of the Crown Point High School and now attends and plays for The University of Michigan.

“He had to work hard to get where he is at and we appreciate the support of the City," Albrecht’s former CPHS Coach Clint Swan said.

Mayor Uran announced Monday night that the “Spike” award will now be awarded annually to an outstanding member of our community who inspires others to greatness, while Albrecht accomplished his goals in the athletic arena, this award will be for those who inspire others in any field.
