CROWN POINT | The Crown Point Board of Public Works and Safety has approved contracts for work to demolish the press box at the Little League Field at Jerry Ross Park.

Lowell-based Austgen Equipment was low bidder on the project at $8,177, City Engineer Tris Miles said.

The work is part of ongoing renovations to the Little League field, paid from a $500,000 donation from the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation.

Contracts totaling nearly $100,000 were approved in September to buy and install new light fixtures at the major league field. The parking lot was repaved earlier this year. Additional work is planned, city officials said.
