LOWELL | The Lowell Parks Department has announced the winners of the 60th Annual Lowell Labor Day Kiddie Parade.
The grand prize went to the Happy 60th Birthday float with Carter, Claire and Cooper Benton, of Lowell; Addison Hamm, of Lowell; and Madison Seberger, of Crown Point.
First place in fictional/storybook characters went to Landon Ownes, of Lowell. Ava, Hannah, Sadie, Brayden and Colton Quale and Gwyn Lowe and Kyleigh Evans, of Lowell, earned second place. Third place went to Michael, Gavin and Kira Flores, of Lake Station.
Under historical/patriotic, Hayley Kralek, of Lowell, earned fist place with Jack Kierzek, Emma Gross and Samantha Swank, all of Lowell, getting second. Third place went to the Rose triplets — Anne, Audie and Lisee, of Lowell.
In the miscellaneous category, Westley and Wade Corns and Anthony and Jake Vick, of Lowell, took top honors. Second place went to Ashlynn Taylor, of Lowell, and third to Danielle DeGonia, of Lowell.
Caleb Hamm won first place in the farm and tractors category followed by Jacinda Akins and R.J. Thompson, of Lowell, with second. Third place went to Jacob Conway and Gavin Ballard, of Crown Point.
Winners in the Dreaming Green category, new for 2013, are Payton and Taylor Hoyle, of Lowell, first place; Dominic and Abigail Hustead, of Lowell, second place; and Joshua, Nathan and Jacob Hejnowski, of Lowell, third place.
There were 74 participants in the parade.
