A person of interest in a Tuesday bank robbery outside Lakes of the Four Seasons was taken into police custody after a resident spotted the man running through his yard, a police spokeswoman said.
A man entered Centier Bank, 8020 E. 109th Avenue in Winfield, about 5 p.m. and demanded money, Lake County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Patti Van Til said.
No weapon was displayed, Van Til said. Money was surrendered to the suspect, who then ran from the bank.
A short time later, a Lakes of the Four Seasons resident called community security to report a suspicious person running through his yard, Van Til said.
A Lakes of the Four Seasons security guard caught the subject and held him until Lake County sheriff's police arrived, Van Til said.
Nobody was injured. The investigation is continuing and charges are forthcoming, Van Til said.
