CROWN POINT | The largest graduating class since the founding of University of St. Francis Crown Point in 2006 earned nursing pins last month in ceremonies at Crown Point High School.
About 400 family members and friends attended the ceremony for the 23 graduates.
Carol Schuster, CNO, NIR of the Franciscan Alliance, offered words of advice to the students, and interim USF Crown Point Dean Sr. Elaine Brothers, OSF, also offered comments.
“The nursing pinning ceremony has a long standing history in the role of nursing education,” said Brothers. “Today it gives USF, faculty, staff, students and families of the grads an opportunity to celebrate the successes of these dedicated students, as well as to introduce them into the nursing profession.
"USF is honored to prepare 23 nurses to serve the health care needs of northwest Indiana.”
USF Crown Point is a regional campus of the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, a private Catholic university in the Franciscan tradition.
