CROWN POINT | A trio of colorful posters announced National Library Week at the Crown Point Community Library last week, thanks to a trio of winning artists.

In honor of National Library Week, the library held a poster design contest open to patrons of all ages. The winners are Savannah Fields, a second-grader at Timothy Ball Elementary School; Anna Marie Gianni, Crown Point High School junior; and adult Kara Dokupil.

The Friends of the Library selected Gianni’s design of bookshelves and several oversized books touting the theme "Communities Matter @ the Crown Point Community Library," to grace the first official library postcard. The postcards are available for purchase at the Crown Point Library Circulation Desk for $1 each.

The Friends of the Library kicked off the observance with its Spring Book Sale on April 13 and 14. Those who missed it can still shop a large selection of books, music and videos in the ongoing book sale located in the library's Internet café and open during library business hours; items cost $1 each.
