CROWN POINT | A power outage Monday affected about 73 NIPSCO customers in a Crown Point neighborhood, a company spokesman said.

Crews were working to restore power to homes in the area of Pettibone Street, Henderlong Parkway and Maple Lane, in an area south of the Crown Point downtown, the spokesman said.

The outage occurred at about 3:40 p.m. Power was expected to be restored within about three hours, the spokesman said.

The cause of the outage is being investigated but could have been the result of an issue with a nearby transformer, the spokesman said.
