CROWN POINT | A stock car stolen on Saturday from a storage yard in Crown Point was recovered in Gary, but the trailer used to transport the racing car is still missing, police said.
The car and trailer were reported taken just after 10 p.m. from the facility at 800 E. North St., Crown Point Assistant Police Chief Jim Janda said. The car and trailer had been detached from the rear of a truck in the lot.
The car was recovered on Sunday. The 1993 Pace American Shadow trailer was not found, Janda said.
Police have identified a person of interest, but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday, Janda said.
