CROWN POINT | Winter is just beginning to assert itself, but some forward thinking groups are already looking forward to spring. A special committee of Crown Point community members are hard at work preparing for the fourth annual Spring into Action Community Volunteer Fair, set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9 in the Crown Point High School cafeteria, 1500 S. Main St.
Last year, this event attracted more than 60 organizations who took the opportunity to spread the word about their nonprofits' work and recruit volunteers. Hundreds of potential volunteers attended to discuss how their talents might fit the needs of the nonprofits in a trade-show type of format.
Because of the generous sponsorship by the Crown Point Community Foundation, this event remains free for both exhibitors and the hundreds of potential volunteers who attend each year.
Interested in exhibiting? Nonprofit organizations can explore highlights from last year's event and register on line at www.spring-into-action.org.
There is no registration required for those who attend to explore the dozens of volunteer opportunities available.
