Kimberly Valich has joined the University of St. Francis Crown Point faculty as a full-time assistant professor.

She earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at St. Xavier University in 1989 and a master's in nursing at University of Phoenix in 2002.

She began her nursing career in intensive and cardiac care at Community Hospital in Munster and has also worked as a home care nurse for Franciscan St. Margaret Health and in family practice.

She has been teaching with specialties in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment and advanced medical-surgical nursing since 1994 at community colleges in the Chicagoland area. She has been a full-time tenured faculty member and Department of Nursing chair for South Suburban Community College in South Holland since 2003.

She holds registered nursing licenses for Illinois and Indiana.

“Kim Valich will be a great asset to the USF Crown point nursing faculty,” said nursing program director Margaret Stoffregen-DeYoung. “As a seasoned nurse and nurse educator, she will add a great depth and breadth of experience to benefit our students.”
