CROWN POINT | Sheriff John Buncich announced the Lake County Sheriff’s Department is providing two $500 college scholarships to local students. The scholarships are open to all Lake County, Indiana high school graduating students who plan to major in criminal justice, forensics studies, pre-law or a related field.

The deadline to apply is March 15. The scholarship program is being administered by the Urban League of Northwest Indiana. All interested applicants can apply through their high school guidance counselor or directly through the Urban League of Northwest Indiana at www.urbanleagueofnwi.org.
