Bargain shoppers converged on St. Matthias Church Thursday for the 30th annual spring garage sale, which featured thousands of household items, as well as clothing, electronics, a bake sale and more.
"We get so much stuff, and it's all donated," said Cathy Barfoot, chairperson of the garage sale committee. "Our mission with (the sale) is not only our budget, but community outreach — providing low-cost items."
The sale has expanded into the classrooms at the church this year with separate rooms for men's, women's and children's clothing, electronics and other items.
"It's a social event for our parishioners. We spend a whole week taking donations, sorting and pricing items," Barfoot said.
The sale continues from 8:30 to 1 p.m. today, with everything half price.
