“Help one another; there’s no time like the present and no present like the time.”

- James Durst

The fourth annual Spring Into Action Volunteer Fair will be held Saturday, March 9, sponsored by the Crown Point Community Foundation. The event will bring together approximately 70 nonprofit booths from  10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Crown Point High School cafeteria, 1500 S. Main St.

These nonprofits will be showcased so that you will be able to learn more about the services they provide. You can match your time and talents to the needs of these agencies. You can register to be a volunteer, and at the end of the day, you will make a difference.

Volunteerism is a great way to make a difference in your life and in the lives of others. When you volunteer, you have the opportunity to meet new people. You experience new roles and develop new skills.

Many volunteers go on to become employees of the nonprofits they are helping. When you give of your time and talent, you feel a sense of success and fulfillment. You truly impact the lives of people in your community.

The Crown Point Community Foundation is once again partnering with The Times Media Company in developing a resource guide to the Volunteer Fair. We are grateful to The Times for helping to make this publication available to every household in the distribution area.

This guide will help you locate the nonprofit booths at the fair. This resource guide contains contact information for numerous services and agencies. You will want to save this guide for future use throughout the year.

As in the past, the foundation will sponsor a blood drive. The Heartland Blood Center needs your help in supplying this gift of life to our local hospitals. Please call the Community Foundation office at (219) 662-7252 to register for an appointment to give blood. Not sure of your schedule yet? Stop by the fair – walk-ins are always welcome

It is our hope that you will share a few hours with us learning more about the organizations serving our community. Meet these wonderful people that do the good works and make a difference in our lives.
