CROWN POINT | March madness was in full swing last Friday night at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point. Fourteen teams left it all on the court at St. Mary’s annual 3-on-3 double elimination co-ed basketball tournament.

A lively crowd was present at the event to cheer on their favorite teams and root for the underdogs.

The tournament had two divisions. One made up of seventh and eighth grade students, and another made up of fifth and sixth grade students.

The tournament was run by St. Mary’s gym teacher Ken Florek. St. Mary alumni Nick Jeffirs, Jake Brown, Cole Thiel, and Chris Krutz assisted as referees and organizers for the event.
