CROWN POINT | The Crown Point Parks and Recreation Department hosts the local qualifying event for Scott’s Pitch Hit & Run at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Registration is at 5 p.m. on the Junior Bulldogs Football Field at the Crown Point Sportsplex, 1313 E. North St.

There is no charge to participate. The competition is open to boys and girls 7 to 14 who compete separately in four age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Those who qualify may advance to sectional competition.

Registration in advance is encouraged and available online at www.mlb.com/phr. The online registration form must be printed out, signed by a parent/guardian and brought to Monday's event to be considered an official registration form.

A copy of the participant’s birth certificate is also required at or prior to registration.
