The Lake County Master Gardener Association, in conjunction with the Dyer Garden Club and the St. John Garden Club, is holding a Tri-Town Garden Walk, Summer Thyme in the Garden, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Nine beautiful gardens will be available for viewing in Dyer, Schererville and St. John.
Cost is $7, with tickets available at Centier Bank, 1121 Sheffield Ave. in Dyer; Elzinga's Farm Market, 1587 Joliet St. in Dyer; Walt's Food Cenyter, 1218 Sheffield Ave. in Dyer; The Artful Garden, 611 N. Indiana Ave. in Crown Point, and the Lake County Purdue Cooperative Extension Service office, 880 E. 99th Court, Suite A in Crown Point. Tickets also will be available on the day of the walk at the first garden, 601 Wellington Drive in Dyer.
Do you have a small yard? Come see how homeowners who live in townhouses and condos have landscaped their yards. "I live in a middle unit of a townhouse which has four units. So you can imagine how small my front and back yards are. But I have a shade garden in the back and a full sun garden in the front. I have no grass, just gardens," said a townhome owner whose home is featured on the tour.
Master Gardeners and the homeowners will be available to answer questions. For more information, call (219) 755-3240, visit www.lakecountymastergardeners.com or email email@example.com.
