Food and Arts Festival
There is fun for the whole family at the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Food and Arts Festival that runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. both June 21 and 22. All activities take place on the downtown square of Crown Point.
Some of the local restaurants that will be featured during this Taste of the Region are: Abuelos Mexican Restaurant, Crown Town Grill, Fahrenheit Two-Twelve and Lucrezia’s Ristorante.
More than 40 crafters will be selling their homemade treasures.
At 6 p.m. Friday, the Marriage Mill will take place in feature a couple exchanging wedding vows on the east side steps of the historic Old Lake Courthouse. After the ceremony, all married couples in attendance have the opportunity to renew their wedding vows.
On Friday, WiseGuys will take the stage on the east side of the Old Lake Courthouse at 6:30 p.m. and will play until 9:30. Live entertainment continues Saturday with with Mudsharks on the east side steps from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Cookin’ with the kids
The Crown Point Parks and Recreation Department offers Lil’ Chefs, a cooking class for children from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, June 20 through July 25, at the Crown Point Civic Center, 101 S. East St.
The class will cover safety, table-setting, etiquette and cooking fun. Each week will be themed so participants can learn to make and eat many foods originating from all over the world.
Fees are $45 for Crown Point residents and $60 for nonresidents. All supplies are included. The registration deadline is Monday.

Alzheimers Association Greater Indiana Chapter will present the Northwest Indiana Area Caregiver Conference on June 28 at Avalon Manor, 3550 E. U.S. 30, Hobart.
The conference is designed to educate both family and professional caregivers who would like to enhance their knowledge of Alzheimer’s and their caregiving skills. The presenter is Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, a dementia expert who trains and consults for agencies, facilities and families.
