Teens and parents welcome at family life workshops
CROWN POINT | Dave Kipp, a family life specialist and pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 250 S. Indiana Ave., has prepared five, two-hour workshops for teens and their parents. The sessions are open to any interested person, and participants do not need to be a member of Trinity Lutheran or of any other practicing faith or denomination.
Topics include "Teening Parents and Parenting Teens" at 9 a.m. Saturday, or 7 p.m. Tuesday; "Addressing Divided Family Relationships" at 9 a.m. March 3 or 7 p.m. March 6; "Letting Go of a Hurtful Past" at 9 a.m. March 10 at or 7 p.m. March 13; "Marriage Check Up" at 9 a.m. March 17 or 7 p.m. March 20; and "Satisfying Relationship" at 9 a.m. March 24 or 7 p.m. March 27.

Pastor Kipp has worked with children, teens, parents, and youth professionals for more than 35 years and has spoken on family life to groups at public and parochial schools, colleges and conference and retreat centers in 11 states and in Canada. He recently spoke to 14,000 teenagers and youth leaders at a Christian Youth Gathering in San Antonio, Tex.
The Trinity Church pastor is a 1978 and 1987 graduate of Concordia University in Mequon, Wisc., and a 1992 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. He has been married to his wife, Susan, for 38 years, and has two married boys and two teenage grandsons.
