CROWN POINT | Northwest Indiana’s only improv comedy group is offering a three-week improvisation workshop for adults beginning Tuesday.
The workshops will meet from 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays, June 18 and 25 and July 2, at the Crown Point Community Theatre, 1125 Merrillville Road.
“We’ve seen a growing interest in learning how to improvise and our classes have been filled,” said Bob Craig, director of Disposable Theatre. “This is an opportunity to find out what improv comedy is all about right here in Northwest Indiana.”
The workshops will cover the basics of improvisation - creating scenes, building your understanding of improvisation and performance games and stimulating your creativity. There will be more advanced classes offered in the future and there may be performance opportunities with Disposable Theatre.
Tuition is $80 and space is limited to 8 to 12 adults. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot in the class or ask questions.
The workshops will be taught by Craig, who has been studying and performing improv for more than 20 years. He studied at The Second City Conservatory program and at IO (formerly ImprovOlympic) and performed with Broad Shoulders Productions and TheatreSports in Chicago. He is the founder and director of Disposable Theatre, now in its third year of performing in and around Northwest Indiana.
