CROWN POINT | Kids Against Hunger, a charity devoted to eradicating world hunger and Thrivent Financial, a not-for-profit fraternal benefit society, are again joining forces for their fifth annual food packing project.

“This year we aim to pack 200,000 meals, almost doubling our previous record on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Valparaiso University in the Athletic Recreation Center,” Carsten Falkenberg, retired wealth advisor for Thrivent Financial, said. “90% of the food will restock food pantries in Northwest Indiana.”

Volunteers for the 8:30 a.m. or the 12:30 p.m. shifts should sign-up on-line at www.kah-greenwood.org Tax-deductible donations made out to Kids Against Hunger are being accepted at the event or can be mailed to Carsten Falkenberg, 6811 E. 125th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307.
