CROWN POINT | The University of Saint Francis Crown Point invites students, parents and others interested in the college selection process to visit campus from July 22 through July 26, during Indiana Private College Week.
Visitors will experience first-hand the unique personality of USF through tours and meetings with advisors. Each visitor will receive a USF gift. Those who wish to visit campus can register by calling (219) 488-8888.
Across Indiana, private, non-profit colleges and universities are opening their doors to visitors during this week to offer students an opportunity to visit multiple campuses in a short period of time without missing school. A complete list of participating campuses, as well as event schedules and registration information, is available at www.icindiana.org.
According to research conducted by TargetX, 90 percent of high-school students interviewed about their college selection said, “I visited campus and it just felt right.” The campus visit is a source of information that brings a school’s description to life experientially.
“Students and families discover through visiting that Indiana private colleges are within reach, financially and otherwise,” said Richard L. Ludwick, president and CEO of the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI). “ICI colleges and universities make millions of scholarship dollars available to students all four years, making top-flight higher education a dream come true for tens of thousands of students. We want this week to be a gateway to realizing that dream.”
Visitors between the ages of 16 and 20 touring ICI campuses during Private College Week will have the chance to enter a drawing for one of three Amazon Kindle Fires. Entry forms and rules will be available at each campus.
ICI is a nonprofit association that represents the state’s 31 private nonprofit colleges and universities. Member institutions enroll more than 90,000 students, and annually produce 35 percent of all bachelor’s degrees in Indiana.
